 THE CABINET OF CURIOSITY

WHAT IS CABINET OF CURIOSITY ?

A cabinet of curiosities was an encyclopedic collection in Renaissance Europe of types of objects whose categorial boundaries were yet to be defined. They were also known by various names such as Cabinet of Wonder, and in German Kunstkammer (“art-room”) or Wunderkammer (“wonder-room”). Modern terminology would categorize the objects included as belonging to natural history (sometimes faked), geology, ethnography, archaeology, religious or historical relics, works of art (including cabinet paintings) and antiquities. “The Kunstkammer was regarded as a microcosm or theater of the world, and a memory theater. The Kunstkammer conveyed symbolically the patron’s control of the world through its indoor, microscopic reproduction.” Of Charles I of England’s collection, Peter Thomas has succinctly stated, “The Kunstkabinett itself was a form of propaganda”. Besides the most famous and best documented cabinets of rulers and aristocrats, members of the merchant class and early practitioners of science in Europe also formed collections that were precursors to museums.

Before museums has been around since, collections involving cultural as well as natural artifacts ended up collected by means of wealthy persons, and stashed in suites called ‘Wunderkammer’ or maybe rooms involving wonder. These became generally known as ‘Cabinets of Curiosity’. Inside the pre/early medical era, the collectors begun to devise their unique understanding of the world around them variety these things. They assembled objects by means of relationships that made sense to them, and in doing so allowed others to build their own understanding of the things. Museums introduced the idea of fixed this means, and and then embarked around the long quest of dictating how the universe works.

About me:

For my understand, Cabinet of  Curiosities is a very important for the designer .  Because if you do not see many things you will do not have too much things can make. We can not copy but we can see the things where is good and where is not very good, and when I do I will how to make it .I can not do what like it or I will change what that make is to be perfect.  That is why Cabinet of Curiosities is exist. And is also can remember the history, the people can not keep forever but the art things can keep forever. And the though also can keep forever.

THE CIRCUIT OF CULTURE

The five interacting loci of cultural practices.

Circuit of Culture is a theory  used in the area of cultural studies. The theory suggests that in studying a cultural text or artifact you must look at five aspects: its representation, identity, production, consumption and regulation. In order to fully understand a cultural text or artifact, we must not look at it’s face value or simply look at what we are presented with, but instead we must look at what detail underlines it and the parameters that surround it. One way we can do this is by looking at it using 5 aspects that affect it:

Representation, Regulation, Identity, Production, Consumption

Representation:

  1. If a group or person has representation in a legislature or on a committee, someone in the legislature or on the committee supports them and makes decisions on their behalf.
  2. see also proportional representation.
  3. You can describe a picture, model, or statue of a person or thing as a representationof them.
For my opinion , if you have some thing you need to use your own word to explain this things and make people know what you mine.

Regulation:

  1. Regulations are rules made by a government or other authority in order to control the way something is done or the way people behave.
  2. Regulation is the controlling of an activity or process, usually by means of rules.
For my opinion, I think regulation is same like rule .We design or anythings all have one line that is we can not throw over. And this line is the regulation.

Identity:

  1. Your identity is who you are.
  2. The identity of a person or place is the characteristics that distinguish them from others.
I think it is we use the different things to find same space to make a new things. And use some terse word make viewer know what your mine.

Production:

  1. Production is the process of manufacturing or growing something in large quantities.
  2. Production is the amount of goods manufactured or grown by a company or country.
  3. The production of something is its creation as the result of a natural process.
  4. production is a play, opera, or other show that is performed in a theatre.
  5. When you can do something on production of or on the production of documents, you need to show someone those documents in order to be able to do that thing.
I think production in the design is your finally work. It is a thing that have what your though, imagine and your technology.

Consumption:

  1. The consumption of fuel or natural resources is the act of using them or the amount used.
  2. The consumption of food or drink is the act of eating or drinking something, or the amount eaten or drunk.
  3. Consumption is the act of buying and using things.
For design we need to consumption somethings, and we need to make is to be down.
About me:
I think, every culture is unique and different cultures is meant by its production, distribution, consumption, commercialization and endlessly copied and re-negotiation of the social process. Things and events is pointless and themselves. We give things meaning by defining and introduce them to our social construction of meaning. Culture forms the basis of a shared sense of social systems. Please draw your attention to how we can through shared cultural experience, meaning by defining what we already know something new term extension. The circuit consists of five cultural moment behalf, identity, production, consumption and regulation. Every moment helps a whole.
